About Periapt
Periapt means amulet, and is derived from 16th century French (periapt) and Ancient Greek (periapton). It signifies something that is wrapped around or fastened to oneself to protect or strengthen. Periapt Designs revives this nearly forgotten word to convey it’s mission of creating modern amulets for Fin de Siecle people.
Fin de Siécle usually refers to the end of the 19th Century, but also refers to the ending of one era and the beginning of another. As we shift from the 20th to the 21st century, from the age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius, one doesn’t need a calendar to know we’re in a time of great change. We are creatures of habit, and change is neither simple nor easy. As our exterior circumstances shift, we’re challenged to find strength and stability within.
Periapt Designs creates jewelry to soothe in uncertain times. The designs, stones and metals are chosen to inspire strength and relaxation. Drawing on traditions that utilize protection symbols, the

Periapt Designs is the creation of Lyn Gaza, a lifelong artist, writer and idea explorer. Inspired by alchemy, fashion jewelry and wisdom traditions, Lyn creates these objects to reach beyond our world of mass production and digital engagement, and touch upon something a bit more eternal.
